I only have RDi v9.0.1 installed, but I've played around a bit and I think I see what you mean. You are using a compare tool that doesn't come with WDSC by default (because WDSC only provides the "Compare To Each Other" option, I think.) But both the Softlanding extensions' compare and the iSphere compare prevent a PF38* attributed file from showing up when you use the prompt screen to browse for the file in a library. Perhaps Frank Hildebrandt (iSphere) and/or Doug Davie (Softlanding) can let us know what causes this restriction?
I have found a workaround, though. If you already know the name of the PF38 file, you can just type that in and the browse for members in the compare prompt screens will still work fine. The normal library/object/member filters in the Remote System Explorer (RSE) view do show the PF38 files when you are looking in a library or a set of file objects, so maybe you could get the relevant name from there.

First, I'm using WDSC 7.0.0.8 as my primary editor. I've run into a situation using the 'compare to file' option where the compare-to file (and hence member) doesn't show in the picking list.
After doing some checking, the only reason that I can come up with why the file does not show in the list is that ALL files in the list have either a '*file.pf-src' or '*file.pf-dta' attribute. The missing source file, QRPGSRC, has an attribute of '*file.pf38-src' so I assume this is why it doesn't show up.
I've had no luck checking through the Window=>Preferences options. Anyone know how can I get the picking list to include it?
