I did try your suggestions:

Window>Open Perspective>Other>Remote System Explorer
or
Window>Show View>Other>Remote Systems>Remote Systems

But I did not go as far as OTHER. I clicked on remote system explorer and did not realize it was at the bottom left next to fast views.

Thanks for the quick lesson, especially about fast view. I think I can get rid of a few things that way.

I will try your ideas for perspectives. I knew they were out there, but hearing how someone else does it makes it clearer.
