One way to solve this difficult to reproduce issue would be to bypass it:
always open the copy from the server.
When using the _REMOTE_ Systems Explorer, I expect to manipulate objects from the server.

Our use of RD Power is nearly always on the LAN and I suspect this is true for the majority. I don't think we would see much of a difference when opening members.
There could be a preference to use the cache for those that mostly work on a WAN.

The consequence of this bug can lead to lost code and it often is not obvious that a stale source was opened.

I'm updating our internal plugin so that it calls a program on the server passing it what was opened in Lpex to check against the content of member on the server and alert the user on mismatch.
