Robert, could you please try upgrading to 8.0.3.1, and see if that makes a
difference? We addressed a performance issue with database references in
Screen Designer, as part of APAR SE49462 (

I'm attempting to use the screen designer but I am becoming frustrated
because it seems each time I change a field (reference) it seems that
RDp
is accessing the i and this tends to be slow (maybe 2 or 3 seconds).

I've checked the archives of this list but found nothing that would
help.
Is there a preference to tell the screen designer perspective to only
access the i when requested?
