It's not just you. I COMPLETELY agree.
In my opinion, those who want to see the whole thread, you can easily do
so in two potential ways:
1) Any good e-mail software will let you display the messages in
threaded fashion.
2) If all else fails, you can easily look up the thread in the
Midrange.com archives.
There's no good reason to include the entire message in a reply. Only
include the bits that you are replying to so that others have some
context for your reply. That's all you need.
Yes, it can be extra work to trim them -- but it's worth it.
