The RDp Data perspective does not allow you to create or alter new tables,
indexes, etc. It only allows you to view them and the data in them.

Why wouldn't you use Quantum or the built in RDP Data Perspective ?

I guess that is a possibility, but I don't like Navigator, because it is
very slow.

Have you considered iSeries Navigator?
Expand Databases.
Go to your database (generally machine name) Expand Schemas RIGHT CLICK on
the library where you want to create the table.
In the resultant pop-up menu, click on New, and then click on Table.
