I'd take the approach of MyEclipse an annual cost. They charge $159.00
for their "Blue" edition. That amount, on an annual basis, is pretty
reasonable.

This is a hypothetical question and I appreciate many organisations would not allow personal software to be installed on company assets. For freelancers, the situation might be more flexible.
