Thanks Roger

I was able to install WDSC using the latest Installation Manager without
any problems. The link to which you refer is very helpful. There's also
a page on the wiki explaining the process
(http://wiki.midrange.com/index.php/WDSC_installation).

My problem was that I couldn't install CODE. I setup the install to run
in WinXP compatibility and it worked. The product is running okay without
requiring XP compatibility. The interesting part to me is that I did not
have to do anything like that on the test machine. There must be
something different on mine.

Anyway I'm functional for now, although I'm really looking forward to
getting RDP.

Re: [WDSCI-L] Installing CODE on Windows 7: "Windows NT (unknown) .
. . is not supported"

I was able to install WDSC V7 on windows 7 following the procedures
outlined
on this page:

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/SLKBase.

There is a cleanup procedure, it you have an unsuccessful install. You
will
need to download a 1.4 gb update file. You will link to this file
during
the install process.
I'm on V5R4.

I'm sure I've seen this in the list, but I'm not finding it in the
archives or any other way. I recently received a new Windows 7 PC,
but
not yet RDP. That will come when we upgrade from V5R4.

I installed WDSC and CODE on a test Windows 7 machine and after a few
bumps everything worked great. But when I try to install CODE on my
Windows 7 machine, the installer tells me, "JAVA reports Windows NT
(unknown) as the name of your OS. This OS is not supported." The
only
option is a cancel button.

What have I forgotten or what could have changed?

Thanks
