Re: Opening RPG source gives trailing blanks

Of course now that I am focusing on the issue, "all the time" is now not
the right way to say it. I did have it happen a couple hours ago. It
has happened at least once a day. I have not paid attention to any
sequence of events when I notice the issue. I am usually in the middle
of making several source member changes when I run into it.

It's very noticeable. You try to get to the end of the line but the
cursor goes right to the last column as though the blanks were not
trimmed. You press Home and try again. Same thing happens. If you
know about this issue then you make a small change and save. Now you
can position to the end of the text on any line in any column position.

It's not necessarily an issue that occurs because RDP has been active
for a while. My system was restarted because of automatic updates and I
ran into the issue this afternoon.

Its annoying but not enough for me to put in an official complaint. I
was merely confirming what Kirt is seeing happened in prior versions.
Plug-ins: Aldon LMi, Aptana, Eclipse Monkey (from Aptana), Quantum DB,
RSE Extensions and David's RSE filter plug-in for member descriptions
(sorry I am forgetting the name).

I am at RDP 7.6.0.1.

I'm back to RDp 8.0 trial (with a new computer) while I wait for the

license key.

When I open an RPG source member (via a filter, if that matters), the

source opens with trailing blanks. Is there any way to stop this from
happening? It removes the ability for me to press End and go to the

end

of a line. What I need to do to get around this is to make a change

to

the source (such as replacing a space with a space) and then save the
source (which is set to trim all trailing blanks).

The downside to the work-around is that we currently compile our

programs as *SOURCE, and if the source changes, you get that message

in

debug which inspires a lack of confidence in using that source to

debug

with.

I don't recall this happening in WDSCi 7.
This did happen in RDp 7.6 (trial).
