Hi, what do others do when you've filled up your data dictionary? We put it in a new PF eg volume1, started another PF volume2 and created an LF on these files with the same name as the original dictionary.

Thanks David,
We opened a defect 8635 yesterday about the tool forcing to
fill in file and record on DB references.

The other problem, if I understand you correctly, is if you
have specified the DB on the file-level REF keyword then the
field properties browse does
not find the field. In your case, the file was a logical
file. I will
ask my colleague to try to reproduce that.

Take care

Back again in screen designer cos I'm stupid.

Typical situation : you take an existing dspf and you modify
it. Now, I need to change a load of reference fields. The
referenced field Library, File and Record is not shown, only
the referenced field name. If you change it, you have to fill
all the other information, otherwise it will not be resolved.
If I do go to the trouble of browsing to my data dictionnary,
it is not shown in the list of files. I wonder if this is
because it's a logical file and SD is expecting a physical.
The name of the data dictionary is specified at file level.

So you give a new tool one shot?

One thing you _believe_ it doesn't handle as well as SDA and you've
given up?

I didn't expect this from you David.
