Be careful when you order 7.1 via ESS, access to your earlier 6.1 license
keys will dissappear and you will have to call IBM again to get it visible
again....

No. I tried that originally, but our entitlement records were such a
mess that I finally just called IBM and after exchanging a few phone
calls and emails, they finally determined that we were entitled and just
sent it to us (got it yesterday).

I am not sure why we have had such issues. Since we run a blade there
is always some confusion about whether the OS is AIX or IBM i. We have
two SWMA contracts, one for each OS and although we are now current on
SWMA things have always been a challenge.

I just jumped over to ESS and *now* I can order the upgrade to 7.1 so
they must have sorted something out when I asked for the RDp order a
week or so ago. Interesting that we ordered RPG OA at the same time we
requested the RDp upgrade and it now shows in our entitlements but it
wasn't sent along with the RDp disks and there is no place to download
it in ESS.

I had ordered the DVD and the activation kit came on a separate CD. ESS
still has the download for RDi 7.5 and the activation kit but even
though we are now licensed for RDp ESS shows nothing about it.

Seems the Brazilian office hasn't sorted out the whole RDp vs RDi
issue. Sigh. IBM *really* needs to get a handle on the whole license
key/downloads/entitlement operation. It has *never* been correct and we
always have to go through the hassle of calling to get things ordered
and then ESS still isn't correct.

That is my experience. Calling is the only way to get things done
(great 21st century approach, no?)
