Gee, I thought the names of the AS/400 was confusing.....

Did they name it RDP that so that it rhymes with free? (to add further
confusion)

I wish IBM spent as much time on a GUI native interface that is not a dog
like POWER navigator (new name?)

Maybe we should all get used to using notepad, unless windows stops
supplying that.

I read in a comic the other day that sarcasm is the lowest form of humor.
Sorry...

IBM has already rebranded and modified Rdi. They now call it RDP.

RDP is not free.

However, IBM is ending support for WDSCi very soon now. You can continue
using WDSCi until some future operating system upgrade breaks it. Once it
breaks, you have to live with the loss of functionality or switch to RDP.

The same goes for PDM and SEU. These tools have been "stabilized," which
means no more fixes or upgrades. You can continue to use them until a future
operating system upgrade breaks them. Once they break, you just have to live
with the loss of functionality or switch to RDP.

If you stay with OS (a.k.a. AS400, iSeries, i5, IBM i, Power 7) IBM is
eventually going to get your money with RDP.
