ILEDocs is definitly not dead. But having some more projects on the list makes it difficult to steadily work on it.

Currently ILEDocs on Sourceforge parses comments but does not take procedure prototypes into account. Some time ago I worked on a similar project and was now able to release it under an open source licence. I plan on merging it with the ILEDocs Sourceforge project (which will take some time). It is far from finished but shows already some results.

Example: http://www.rpgnextgen.com/downloads/llist-docs.html

But I think that is not what the thread starter wanted.

Though it would be nice to have some docs for programs and procedures attached to the prototypes and have it on-the-fly in RDi and hopefully without having to manually refresh the outline every time which really sucks. So we can have the docs of the program/procedure if we hover over the program/procedure in code and if we use code completion.

Just some thoughts.

Andy,

Sounds like a good idea. There was an open source project in the works called ILEDOCS. Where that ever went, I'm not sure.

As it's been about a year............ I think I'll try to start this one
again. I'm still at WDSC 7.0 but I still wonder if we should not have a
RPGDOC in RDI

Andy

I attended the TUG TEC Conference recently and got to see a demonstration
of
the Application Diagram view that I had not seen before. I'm using WDSC
7.0
so I'd heard about it but never seen it.

One thing that I thought of and wonder if we could ever get an enhancement
to RDI is to have a new RPG syntax code that would be used in the
Application Diagram view when your looking at subroutines or
subprocedures.
I suppose this would also require an enhancement to the RPG Compiler as
well
to allow for a new form of comment line.

So when your looking at the application diagram view instead of just
seeing
the subroutine/subprocedure name you'd also see what RPGDOC you had for
it.

Just a thought............

Regards
Andy
