Hi Bob!

End of Service will occur on April 30, 2010 for WDSC 7.0 and was announced

I double checked before I posted and I did not see a reference to WDSC
7.0.0 Standard Edition in 908-049 or on the WDSC 7.0.0 Standard Edition
product support life cycle page.

I do see references to the WDSC 7.0.0 ADVANCED edition though.

My only point (and maybe it's a gripe) is that WDSC is a product still
in support and that the RTCi documentation does not appear to indicate
that it works with WDSC. Xuan gently reminded me to look at the RPG
Café, which I tentatively did, but I haven't seen a reference there to
WDSC yet either.

The issue is a selfish one, yet I think it might apply to many. I can't
upgrade to RDi yet - it's not in the budget. The new pricing model will
cost us money and we're in cut-back mode.

RDi is the replacement product. RDi is not just another version of WDSc,
but is a new product written from scratch over Open Source Eclipse 3.4 as a
base. If it looks like WDSC it is because the features of WDSC were
implemented in RDI with many new enhancements on each feature of the
product.

I'm an RPG, CL and DDS-only programmer.

This product is a direct response to customers telling us that WDSC was too
big had too many features and needed better performance.

How has the uptake been? Have you seen many brand new RDi customers or
are they mostly upgrades from WDSC?
