Each vendor may provide different ways to install a plugin.
You'd have to request that information from your vendor.

menu under 'Software Updates' . Then I would select 'Add an Extension
Location'. I found a link to 'Manage Configuration' in the Help so I
guess you can still use it, but maybe there is another way.
