Hi,
Just as a note the Rational Application Developer 7.5 Open Beta has started as well as the Rational Team Concert for i Open Beta.

RTCi is a source/build and project management tool that will support the system i as well as other platforms. This is the promised replacement for Application Development Manager and it looks good...(so far).

Both of these Beta projects run under Eclipse 3.3.

Hi Guys,

I got all excited about Eclipse Ganymede as it includes the MyLyn software and we could use the JIRA extras for MyLyn. I downloaded Ganymede at home and got the JIRA extras, configured our JIRA repository to allow remote API calls and all worked really well.

So, I got to work and thought it would be really good to use the JIRA plug-in with WDSCi. I hit a problem - WDSCi v7.1.1 uses Eclipse 3.2.1. MyLyn requires Eclipse 3.3 minimum.

OK, I thought. not a problem - I'll download the trial version of RDi and look at using that. However, it would appear that RDi also uses Eclipse 3.2.1.

Eclipse is now on version 3.4 and they are building version 3.5. Are there any plans to provide WDSCi / RDi on a more recent version of Eclipse? Is there not a possibility for IBM to provide WDSCi / RDi components as Eclipse plug-ins rather than as part of a standalone application? This would be a better approach as we could buy the parts we actually need rather than the whole package.

Anybody have any news about this?

Cheers
