There are several options for saving(and not saving) of the password:

don't fill in a password: you will be prompted for a password
save the password in a file without saving its location: you'll be prompted for the location of the file
save the password in a file with giving a fixed location for it: the system will make the connection without prompting for anything (least annoying =)

Did you follow the instructions on the Welcome page?

Basically, select File>New>RPG Next Gen>Remote Connection.

Click Next

Fill in connection info

Click Finish

It will prompt you for a location to save this connetion. Then when you go
to the "Remote Explorer" view you will right click and select open and it
will ask you for the config file you just got done saving.
