Hi,
I currently have 5 images of Eclipse installed (WDSC 6.0, WDSC 7.0, RDI 7.1, Eclipse 3.2 and Eclipse 3.3) now I am installing Eclipse 3.4. The thing that really gets to me is that somewhere along the way someone (maybe me) forgot what the I in IDE means:-)

A couple comments:

1) Being on the bleeding edge has its downfalls as the code is at it's least
stable point, though we are talking about secondary level releases here
(i.e. .2 to .4)
2) IBM doesn't own Eclipse like they own OS/400. But in the same breath,
they *created* eclipse back in the day :-)
3) I have learned to consider WDSC a stand alone application that has it's
own upgrade cycle and if I need newer eclipse features I simply download
them *completely separate* form WDSC's version of eclipse. This creates a
much happier environment.

Is it important that you have access to RCP perspectives/views and RSE in
the same window?

On a final note, it would be good if you redirected solution400.com to
www.solution400.com IMO :-)

Hi,
It appears that Rational is getting further and further behind in their
releases...

Some of us are building RCP products on the Eclipse base and Rational is
stuck on 3.2. If this was the OS/400 operating system IBM would soon be
dropping support for this release...
