David,

As I recall, you have to order WDSCi v7.0 from your BP. There is no additional charge for the product, as long as you have WDS on maintenance... Version 7.0 is supposed to be "supported" until 2010, but it will not be enhanced, now that RDi is the official replacement.

To use EGL with WDSCi v7.0, you must purchase the RBDe v7 product (Rational Business Developer extensions) which is a chargable product (not sure $$). There is some speculation (come on IBM, we need these points to be clarified) that you MIGHT be entitled to a low cost upgrade from RBDe into RDi-SOA.

hth,
Eric DeLong

Subject: [WDSCI-L] WDSc Version

Hi,

I have to say I'm a bit confused.

I'm working on WDSc version 6.0.0.1.

We have OS V5R4.

Do I have the version of WDSc that was distributed with V5R4 ?

I understand RDi will replace the version 7. I don't want to download the trial version, because I don't think my company will pay for it afterwards (Sadly 99% of our developers have stuck with PDM/SEU).

If I managed to get version 7, I'm wondering for how long it'll work. On my version 6, I have problems with DDS, code designor doesn't start. Worse still, I'm trying to get started with EGL and getting a lot of errors when I start the server. The updates for V6 don't seem to be available anymore.
