I agree. There's no technical reason that IBM can't provide a native GUI. That should have been done over 10 years ago. Despite he fact that there are other, more popular technologies out there does not significantly reduce the need for it on the i.

Usually on midrange.com lists people say, "Speak up and speak out." Why
is it the desire for a native i5/OS GUI should be any different? I'm
betting that people aren't requesting it and at the same time planting
their feet down and refusing any other forward momentum. I share the
opinion that IBM should be developing a native GUI environment and that
it would only add to the survivability (not to mention growth) of the
system. My 2 cents.
