You shouldn't have even had to do this, Jerry. Generally WDSC 7 installs cleanly, even on a machine with a prior release of WDSC. It really sounds like you've got some other issues with the machine. I'd definitely call IBM and see if they can help. They may need to look at a dump to see what's going on.
