The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

By the compilers being unbundled it does allow third party software
vendors to offer editors and IBM still gets some money from the compilers.

I have not used any of these just found them on the Internet. Do I think
they will do as much as IBM's, no I do not. And it still might be hard
to sell them into small shops if you still have to buy a certain number
of IBM's editors, but I have to believe the market just got better for
them then it was. Plus for time-share services (which I do run one for a
little while longer) it might be the only way they can provide V6R1 and
above at a reasonable price, depending on pricing of the third party
software and if IBM goes named users.

When building a program you need to compile it. I still dont understand
the unbundling of the compilers from all the devevlopment tools.
