I agree with this sentiment. I use Linux at home and from time to time
run Windows software. Dual-booting (using "Bootcamp") is a great big
pain once you are happily settled in to the new OS environment and do
almost everything more easily in your new OS than the old one.
So, if you plan to only use a handful of Windows-only apps, definitely
go the virtualization / emulation / translation route.
