Maybe the fact that I am doing it early in the morning has a lot to do with

Note to others upgrading: I just started WDSC after installing the update
and it hung on the "splash" page for about 5 minutes before finally fully
opening up. Note my normal startup time is probably 20 to 30 seconds (on a
4 processor machine with 4GB RAM). Guessing it was upgrading my workspace
somehow someway?
I believe the J9 JVM included with WDSCi runs a compilation step for new code, which for the full product took a very long time...
