The performance is not that bad given the hardware it is running on. I have recently start using WDSC in VMWARE fusion on my new imac(intel core2 dou ~2.4ghz 2gb ram) and it runs pretty well(actually out performs my work PC!). Just give the VM enough processor and ram and WDSC will not even know the difference. I do recommend more RAM than I have as I would want my VM to have at least 1.5gb, need to upgrade to 3gb of ram at home ;-). Hope this helps.

Basically, Win64 is evil. But that's not just the Java talking -- lots
of device drivers and so on don't >work either.

Thanks for the update. Such a shame. I have had good luck with Win64
so far. Only one driver I could not get (Philips Pronto) and one
application that will not run/install (WDSC). I got around the driver
issue with Vmware, but I have not tried to run WDSC in there... I
suspect the performance would be poor at best.
Running 4 GB of ram is nice - and I am sure WDSC would like the extra
elbow room as well.
