What I've experienced is that there are some issues with the EVFEVENT
file.

When I do a search from a member filter (which includes multiple source
files in multiple libraries), I get an error that the EVFEVENT file in my
personal library is locked or some message to that extent. However, when
I check the locks on the file, it seems that only the server job
responsible for the search has one (well, duh!).

I did notice that this error only occurs (sometimes) when the search lasts
a long time.

When searching from an object filter containing several source files in
several libraries, it's much much faster (object filter vs member filter)

But as I also need to filter on member type, this is not always an option.

Just my 2 euro-cents worth.

Re: [WDSCI-L] Crossed source search

Hi,

I feel I must add my 2p worth to this.

The use of the EVFEVENT file doesn't seem to be consistent, i.e. it
doesn't always use the one specified in my current library. For example,
the compiles I do seem to use the EVFEVENT file in the library it is
being compiled into.

I would be very interested if someone knows what functions in WDSC use
which EVFEVENT file.

Best regards,
