Another nice option there, that is mentioned in Jon's setup WDSC article.
Under the messages section : Insert Selected Only. It only inserts the
error you are looking at and positions you to it. Instead of all of them
in your source.

Re: [WDSCI-L] Suppressing Compile Prints

Thanks everyone. I found where I can suppress it in WDSC. It is off a pull
down menu in the bar on top of the iSeries Error list. Under the pull down
menu is an option for show severity. I just de-selected the option for
"information" (I want less information - hmmm) and now my compile
listings
only show real errors and not errors that I could have made.

If you are in SEU - do an F15 then option 2 to get the spooled file - once
you have the split screen with the output in the bottom half, enter *ERR
and press F16 - badaboom badabing - you have the first error.

Yes, WDSC will give you the results of the events file, which is also very
good, except not for SQL stuff - YET - unless I missed something.

If you're scanning an RPG compile listing for errors, you can search for
the literal string
': 20' That will look for the colon followed by a single space and a
message with severity level 20. An RPG compile will fail if any severity
level 20 messages are encountered--COBOL fails at severity level 30. (At
least those are the defaults.)

Is there any way to suppress RNF7031 in from showing up in compiled
listings? It is really a pain to swim through hundreds of messages for
fields that I did not use in my app just to find one that I should have
defined but failed to do so.
