Re: [WDSCI-L] Poll - Best resource for Webfacing

From: rstearns@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

In search of the best, most recent document on Webfacing, I'm polling
the
group to see what's best.

Q. Specifically for Webfacing, what is the most current document/book
available that would speed the learning curve for a group of developers?

I've pulled up a number of redbooks and most are targeting WF 5.0 and it
appears they are behind the product by quite a bit. Is Mr. Pluta's book
the best place to go?

No, not my book, Mr. Stearns.

No, really, you can call me Joe. You can call me a lot of things, in fact
(and many do <grin>).

But as far as what I write, my book for MC Press covers using WDSC for
creating web applications using JSP with RPG back end server programs. My
course for Rochester Initiative and the seminars I do focus primarily on
moving from PDM and SEU to WDSC. Because I sell a product that competes
directly with WebFacing/HATS/WDHT (and boy was THAT hard while they gave
that stuff away for free), I don't write much about those tools.
