Thanks.

I figured it out. It's pretty much like that in v7, but there has to be
a .eclipseextension file in an "eclipse" folder, which is in the new
"Quantum DB" directory. Then the features and plugins folders can just
be dropped into that eclipse directory, and then I can go to
help>software updates>manage configuration and click "add an extension
location", which then prompts me for to find the Quantum DB folder I had
just created.

I pretty much just copied the .eclipseextension file from the one that
came with the softlanding RSE Extensions plugin, then modified all the
contents. If anyone else needs to do this, it looks like this:

name=Quantum DB for RSE
id=com.quantum.Quantum_3.0.5
version=3.0.5

Just stick that in note pad and name it ".eclipseextension", and all
will be well.

|Greg,
|
|I only know the V6 version, but who knows, maybe it's the same in V7
(I'm
|still eagerly awaiting news from our systems guy)
|
|You need to unzip the downloaded binaries in a directory, and create a
new
|"local site" in software updates / find and install, pointing to that
|directory.
|
|Then it will allow you to enter an install location.

|"Prompted for an install location" ?
|
|I am missing something.
|I downloaded the 3.0.5. zip file from quantum, and all it had in it was
|a features folder and a plugins folder. No installation executables or
|anything. In the past, all I've ever done is put these features and
|plugins in the appropriate folders under rse/eclipse/plugins and they
|worked.
|
|What did I miss ?
|
|thanks
