Aaron,

You are an open source kind of guy, have you looked at Improve C# Plugin for Eclipse found here: http://www.improve-technologies.com/alpha/esharp/ ? I haven't tried it but since I am trying to find the "One IDE to rule them all" in Eclipse, you might be able to install the plugin in WDSc 7.0. I may give it a whirl myself but I do so little C# and .Net development I would only install it as a curiosity.

My own efforts to plug everything into WDSc 7.0 have failed so far. MyEclipse installed OK but then crashed and burned when I attempted to start it. The MyEclipse support folks did their best to help out but since WDSc uses a propretary IBM JVM they couldn't do much. Having a single IDE would be great (space wise as well as learning curve wise).

Heyo
Seemed better to put this in this list than in the RPG list. I was doing some RPG XML web service integration to C#.NET this week and
ended up having to pony up a little on C#.NET so I could test things on my
own before handing them off to C#.NET developers. Because I was on the road
and didn't have access to Visual Studio I went ahead and downloaded the free
SharpDevelop IDE (http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/) and was curious
to know if others have used this to learn the ".NET Way" and test the
integration of .NET with their iSeries. Seems like a cheap alternative to
Visual Studio and so far I am very impressed with how similar it is to
Visual Studio (which I have on a different computer).
Any opinions that might steer me away from it? Thanks,
Aaron Bartell
