Hi Bob,

I was referring to the Web Developer (Basic), but generally I just click
enable All :) I tried to select just Web Developer (Basic) but it
wouldn't stick once I hit okay. It must pre-req some other capability
[that should have been automatically selected but wasn't].

After enabling all capabilities, you should be able to right click on a
.html file in the IFS or locally and select Open With > HTML Editor. It
might be the default on double click, if not you can set this in the
General > Editors > File Associations in the preferences.

The HTML editor color tokenize the JavaScript as well as the HTML.

Thanks Don,
I already have "Web Developer (typical) (locked)" checked.
But these two other entries are not checked:
"Web Developer (Advanced) (locked)"
"Web Developer (Basic) (locked)"

Which of the three were you referring to for me to "enable"?

Hi Bob,

Chances are that the workbench text editor is being used instead of the
HTML editor. First enable the Web Developer capability (Window >
Preferences), then General > Capabilities and select the Web Developer
capability.

Now right click on the file and you should be able to select Open With >
HTML Editor. You should then have at least color tokenizing, content
assist, auto-completion and an outline view. If you install the i5/OS web

development tools then you get Page Designer which is the graphical HTML
editor.

[WDSCI-L] Color highlighting HTML

Is there anything special I needed to do to get HTML to do syntax
highlighting?
I only installed the RSE option when I installed WDSC7 last week.
Should I have also selected "Web and Java" options?
However, the Java source I have syntax highlights just fine.
