Anyone have a different idea on how to
> import a file field definition list
into the editor (without having to

I open the DDS and use the rectangle copy/paste.
1) use keystroke recorder to create a bunch of d* (comments) -- you'll avoid syntax errors
2) copy over the field names from the DDS
3) copy over the lengths from the DDS
4) use keystroke recorder to stuff 's' for standalone into the right column.
5) use keystroke recorder or rectangle replace to uncomment the d specs.

This is one of those deals where I wish I knew enough Java to write a teeny plug-in to automate all this.
