Careful, if you activate action closeView in the primary view (main - i.e., leftmost / top window), it will close the entire edit part (all the split views)... That's why the action is not available in the popup's "View" submenu of the primary view.
Thanks for the warning Adrian. At first I was concerned that you meant it would close without prompting to save unsaved changes, but I tried it out and it seems to act similarly to Ctrl+F4 when in the primary view. I don't see having closeView mapped to a keyboard shortcut as a problem, given that if I hit it accidentally I'm not going to lose unsaved changes or anything.
