I've been dealing with some simple CL programs that don't declare 
variables, labels, or data areas. When I compile them in WDSC they 
generate en error listing in the iSeries Error List, with a red X and 
severity 10 errors. Although sometimes they do generate a CLP program 
object, I not sure that they always generate the program object. In any 
case, the red x in the Error List is misleading.

Is this a known problem?

Here is a sample CL program that will generate this type error list:
