As an additional bonus, the variable will show red in the monitor view if 
it's changed.

I don't think I even know how to debug in green screen anymore (and I 
never was able to do it for a batch job anyway).

I'm not saying you can't access them on the green screen.  I'm just saying 

that you can't see the values of multiple variables at the same time while 

also looking at the code in question.  Not only that, but *every* time I 
want to find out what is in 'var1' on green screen I either need to cursor 

around a bunch, then hit F11, or type eval var1.  OTOH, in WDSC, I only 
have to add it as a monitor once, then glance up there whenever I want to 
see the value.

Green screen debugger is good, WDSC debugger is better, neither is 
perfect.
