Ok - so Try CR on the source line, (Copy and Repeat same as SEU). This
"sticks" to that line until you remove it. Then try the overlay "OO". Once
you have done the copy, I believe that F5 will take the CR off of the source
line for you, so you don't have to scroll back to that line. At least it
does in the version 6 that I am using.

I also encourage you to get an update of the product. You will be much
happier, and have less problems.

Thanks a lot for all the responses, I have learned a lot.

A couple of things :
I couldn't find Column sensitive editing anywhere. I'm on V5.0 in French
so
I need to know the exact path to find the box to check. Pasting with
control
C moves everything right.

Alt Z : everytime I use it, the selected block increases in width by one
character.

C in the margin followed by OO on the start and finish lines only copies
over the first line, which is why I was using SEU.

My prefered method is to select the block with Alt R, and type block fill
*
: I noticed that I can select the block, hit escape which brings me to the
command line, hit the up key and select my las block fill commande. Almost
as fast as SEU !!!!
