1.- The OO command should work in LPEX as well.

2.- Paste should also work. Ensure you set "Column sensitive editing", so the original lines are not shifted right.

2.- In LPEX you can select a rectangle block (Alt+R at each of its two diagonally-opposite corners), then Esc to go to the LPEX command line and enter:

  block fill *

or alternatively, after the rectangle selection was done, right-mouse click to bring up the pop-up menu, Selected > Fill selection > *.
