I had trouble with that when I first tried the plugin. The problem is the monitoring thread can't know you have a new message unless it allocates the queue. I suppose it could be in some kind of DSPMSG, DLYJOB type loop, but that wouldn't be the same as what you expect from green screen either.
I don't know anything about Eclipse or Java, but my idea was the thread trying to delete should somehow notify the monitoring job to delete a message. Mark seemed to think it would be on the impossible side of difficult, IIRC.
