Rich, I would second what you have heard from the other posts. Trying to elaborate on those points would just be redundant. On this message though a couple of thoughts. <snip> we have a vendor dependent packaged software environment </snip> I don't see how this is relevant. If you are maintaining code it doesn't matter where it comes from you still need to maintain it. It's just a matter of how. <snip> constant resource (disk) shortages </snip> I presume this is a shortage of disk storage on the iSeries. The WDSc product doesn't require any storage from the iSeries. There are a couple of server type jobs that run but no additional hardware resources are required. It is totally contained on the PC. <snip> no project </snip> There is no cost and it would only take about an hour of your time to install. It could even be done over lunch. For that matter, you could install it and continue to do green screen work while it installs. In short, these aren't real reasons not to install WDSc. Well, here's one of the responses I received when I requested the install: "Someone needs to explain why we want to do this knowing that we have a vendor dependent packaged software environment, constant resource (disk) shortages and no project." _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
