Joe,

You are absolutely right, it does give me such problems with relative links. Normally these are just warnings in WDSc but the functionality is satisfactory so I never worry about the warnings. I did not delve any deeper because it was working the way I wanted it to. Any idea as to how far away are we from 6.0?

Cheers,

Mike.

Charles (thanks for the kudos, by the way <g>), the bizarre behavior
with links is widespread throughout WDSC. I don't usually worry about
it because they're warning messages and I can typically ignore them, but
there are times when they get to be a pain.

As near as I can figure, WDSC does not always correctly figure out the
base location for relative links.

In the last situation I saw, this seemed to have something to do with
the fact that when a servlet is used to include a JSP, the base of the
relative location changes from (for example) /MyApp to /MyApp/servlet.
The magic "servlet" folder becomes part of the base path, which means in
order to get relative links to work, you have to use "..". And of
course if you use ".." in the editor, it has no idea what you're talking
about and gets confused.

If this problem is as widespread as I think it is, then you should be
able to create a dummy workspace (or at least a new web project) and
break it with just a couple of pages. If you can do that, and let us
know how you did it, then we can try to recreate it. At that point, I'm
sure IBM will want to know what's up.

Also, you might want to do this ASAP, since I don't know when WDSC 6.0
is coming out, but I suspect lots of resources are currently pushing
that project.

Joe
