We have converted close to 300 inter/intranet static pages and run them currently on our development WAS HTTP server but will not move our production web site to the I-Series until more of our applications are rewritten. We're using the "Pluta Method" (n- tiered approach)- great concepts and even better performance than we imagined using JSP on the front-end with a JAVA infrastructure talking to the RPG (ILE,Free) handling the business logic and connection to the data layer. This is not a commercial for Joe, but if you really want "green screen" speed on your apps - call him or buy the book... BUT, back to the topic... I am not terribly impressed with WDSc's development environment for Java, JavaScript, JSP & HTML. For instance - I spent considerable time yesterday with a simple link - well, not so simple as it turns out. Simply typing "<A HREF="anypage.html">Click Here</A>" sometimes produces a "broken link" error. HOWEVER using the "Insert" "Link" options from the toolbar does not produce the error even though the text is EXACTLY the same, i.e., "<A HREF="anypage.html">Click Here</A>" This seems to occur primarily with internal links - those going to the same "box." Whatever causes this problem may also be causing another concern - when I want to include a file (<%@ include file="header.html"%>) it is NOT seen nor included and does not give an error. I have not found a way to insert an include file from the menu. That along with not being able to highlight & drag and lack of word-wrapping make the editor a difficult tool to say the least. YES, it could be that I'm still behind the learning curve for WDSc but any suggestions would be a help. Charles Holley Sr. Web Developer AAA Cooper Transportation
