So if you have a lot of files in your workspace, then there are some plugins that will "mirror" those files in the workspace\.metadata\.plugins folder. View the properties of each of those folders one at a time. You will probably find that the majority of the space is coming from just one or two of those folders. At least for the history, I think there are some preferences that control how much it stores.
