Rob, from the properties sub-menu (right clicked on the appropriate connection), choose the subsystem entry. Then choose the iSeries Objects tab. On this tab is a check box to make the compile submit to batch. Check this and see if you get a job log on compile errors. You can also specify other sub job command options below.
