Hey Jon, You need to have authority to read/write the registry for most of the old CODE/400 tooling I believe. Mike Mike Hockings, P.Eng. WebSphere Development Tools for AS/400 - CODE/Designer & WebFacing ! IBM Canada Ltd. Laboratory hockings@xxxxxxxxxx "Jon Paris" <Jon.Paris@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 2004-12-09 18:36 Please respond to Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries To "Wdsci-L" <wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Don Yantzi/Toronto/IBM@IBMCA Subject [WDSCI-L] Problems with DDS source OK - we have a solution. Turns out the problem had nothing to do with the JVM version. The PCs in question were set up so that the Users were "Restricted Users" - this was done apparently to prevent them from installing any software. For some perverse reason, being a restricted user causes some WDSC functions to fail!!! Changing them to Power Users instantly cured the problems. I won't comment on my opinion of software manufacturers who build software that rely on things that the software itself doesn't test for! There are now a group of users who instead of being thrilled with their new tool are now concerned at what else will make it blow up!
