Michael, WDSC offers you an iSeries environment to write and compile code in, as well as an environment to edit your HTML code. It is in that context an ideal combination for both. The alternative is SEU, and another HTNML tool... but I would suggest WDSC (and you can preserve your skills if you ever move to Java based solutions). It may not be the best tool to use since it's more suited to Java and JSP development. CGI is essentially non-dynamic forms - I don't think you need an environment like WDSC for that - Notepad or some HTML editor would work fine. CGI is a good tool. I wrote a CGI program that other day that was the right fit. Developing something in Java under WAS would have been silly - my CGI program fit the bill.
