The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

My mistake, Charles - never had to use this, and it's been a while. Am glad
to know about it, however.
I think I found an answer, though. At any rate, I tried this and get
similar results, I think. When I press ENTER, I get "RNF3301E The Name
entry is not valid; specification ignored." I think this is of nuisance
value only, as it applies to the new line just added, I think.
To suppress it, you can turn off automatic syntax checking in Preferences.
The problem is, it inserts a line with only the spec letter ("D" in this
case), and that line does not pass syntax checking as is. Same thing has
been bugging me in the RPGIII editor, too.
You can also keep syntax checking by turning off the option to repeat the
previous specification. This would insert a blank line, which will pass
muster. Just tried it, it was just what I want.

Vernon,
You're incorrect.
The procedure name isn't too long. That's what the ellipses are for. You
could have a procedure named
d ThisIsAnEvenLongerProcedureName...
Since the ellipses are there, the line doesn't have a syntax error. Thus,
the syntax checker shouldn't be giving an error.
