Mark, My point was not balancing up what was a more high priority fix My point was that saying a bug/design flaw may or may not be fixed in a future release is an acceptable answer. Saying that a bug/ design flaw will not be fixed until the developers of the underlying open source product see fit to do so is not really acceptable in a commercial product. The reason we buy commercial products is for the features but also for the support cheers Colin.W Extension 5800 Direct dial 0870 429 5800 -----Original Message----- From: Mark Phippard [mailto:MarkP@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 October 2004 14:12 To: Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries Subject: RE: [WDSCI-L] Removing a plug-in wdsci-l-bounces+markp=softlanding.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 10/05/2004 09:07:02 AM: > >From our point of view as users of the WDSC product, which we pay for > through software subscription, this is a design flaw. > > As paying customers, I cant see why bugs, design flaws such as this cant be > fixed in the next release. I would have thought the fact that it is based on > a popular open source product means that development cycle is shorter, > meaning that these things should be easier/quicker to fix.
