Hi Jerry, When WDSc starts up it restores the tree from the cache (for performance reasons) so the library list you see in the tree is the cached list which may be out of sync with the real one for the communications server job that the verifier uses to resolve external references. I would recommend right clicking on the library list in the RSE tree view and selecting refresh. This will show the library list used by the comm server job and will also update the cache with the latest list. Another thing you can do when you verify is to prompt the verifier and select the "Refresh Cache" checkbox. If that doesn't work then try clearing the cache as a last resort (from the Remote Systems > iSeries > Cache preference page.) You can also control how the tree is initially populated on startup from the Remote Systems preference page. For example you can have the tree not re-expand at all, or have it re-expand and not use cached information. Please let us know if this helps with your problem or the problem still exists. The fact that you got the RNF0401 message might mean there are other factors at play here. Thanks. AM Please respond to Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries This morning I spent over an hour trying to do something that took 10 seconds on a green screen. A successful compile. I finally gave up in frustration. The verifier for the source member gives me RNF0401 - an error occurred during communication with the host. The RSE found the source member and saved it. So why can't it verify it? I manually verify the connection and then verify my source again and then I get RNF2120 - External descriptions not found? The library list is correct. Also, why do I have to refresh my view every time I start RSE? In the Preferences, Remote Systems, iSeries, under Cache I have checked the box to Disable Caching. Under Connection, the radio button for Connection is selected (with the correct IP address). Under iSeries Projects, Build & Compile the days to keep temporary files on system is 1. Anyone have any comments? V5R2 and all ptf's are current & verify connection shows everything is okay.
