Sam, Are you able to access the Internet at work (via a browser?) Update manager uses HTTP protocol to access the update manager site so if the firewalls allow HTTP to work then it should work for update manager. If you use a proxy server then you will need to enter these settings in the Update Manager preference page. Last night I told Update Manager to search for updates, expecting it to run a few minutes, then tell me what was available, kind of like Microsoft Update does. After 30 minites it had downloaded 10mb according to my connections stats and was still running. The progress bar jumped to 80 something percent after about 15 minutes, but showed no inclination to move any further, so I left it and went of to watch TV. I came back 2 hours later so I don't know when it finished, and it told me that 5.1.0.1 was available. If I tell it to install 5.1.0.1 will there be additional downloads, or have the changes already been downloaded? I hear rumbles here that there are 4 or 5 additional upgrades already in the works. Sam (I haven't tried the upgrade at work--still haven't gotten around our firewall.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Get reliable dial-up Internet access now with our limited-time introductory offer. _______________________________________________ This is the Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries (WDSCI-L) mailing list To post a message email: WDSCI-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/wdsci-l or email: WDSCI-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l.
