Hi Colin,

I thought there was no .classpath file, but there is. WDSC does not show 
it in the "Package Explorer" view, but it shows the classpath entries as 
branches of the tree. And it does contain a branch 
"org.eclipse.ui.workbench_2.1.1" that contains the workbench.jar entry. So 
apparently PDE does handle it automagically. The problem with automagical 
things is that they often make life difficult when something goes wrong.
